My Human Rights Blog SLC

My Human Rights Essay is called “I believe that discrimination because of a country or belief is wrong”. I think this topic is important because it’s what holds world peace. I also wrote about this because of my own country.

I’m proud of my work because I have a lot of paragraphs to support my main idea. I also used stuff that I already know a lot about. I wish I had put more mini stories. I also think I could have put in more stamina and volume.

Otherwise I am proud of my work and wanted to share it with you…

I believe that discrimination because of a nationality or belief is wrong

Have you ever been to a country that may have a bad reputation? Did you look at the bad side or on the good side of things? Think about it, maybe the country did a bad thing but also helped the world. I am a 5th grader who tries to look at the good side of things. Not only because I am from Germany, and Germany is one of those countries, but because I believe that the world might be wrong. I hope I will persuade some of you.

Let’s take my country, Germany. A lot of people in the world look at Germany through the lense of WW2. When the name falls people immediately think about war. But if you look at it the other way around Germany has done a lot of things that changed or are changing the world right now. For example a lot of humans would have legs that are tired today if this country wouldn’t have invented the car.

Once my class was watching a video about human rights. They also told about the history of human rights. When the video came to the part about WW2 a bad bunch of my classmates looked at me. This made me wonder, “ how can some people in the world still be mad at something that happened over 75 years ago?” It also made me feel bad, this is why I believe no one can discriminate you because of a country or belief.

Another big problem about discrimination is Muslim belief. In many countries of the world humans fear Muslims and don’t want them in their country. It’s true the ISIS has done some things but that doesn’t mean all are bad. We, people from the US and Europe, also have our part in what they do. For example the attack in Paris was caused by jung Muslims but in a the newspaper it said that their parents fled there with them. They didn’t get treated well so they got angry and did the attacks.

We have two Muslims in our class and we’re all the same. Fair enough I want to remind you, no one can discriminate you or you can’t discriminate anyone because of a country or belief.

In conclusion I believe that no one can discriminate you or you can’t discriminate anyone because of a country or belief should be a universal human right. Whether it’s in your home or at school, it should be your right and you should feel it.

Reading, Book Recomendation

A book I recommend is “Wonder” by Raquel J. Polacio. This is a book about a boy named Augustwho has a deformed face.

This book has a very good main idea. I think the main idea is that it doesn’t matter what you look like it matters what you are like from the inside. For example Auggie is a nice guy and likes to do normal things but looks completely different from others. In the beginning August’s friend Jack must have thought, “Augh, what an ugly face, he’s defenetly not nice”. But then he realised that he is actually a nice boy and they became friends.

I believe this is the main idea and what makes “Wonder” a “have to read”.

Strong Math Proof

My Mathematical practice is Utilize Structure

I went through my notebook to find a strong proof for my MP. I chose this part because I had lots of struckture. I wrote an equation, a model and a solution sentence. This way  the reader can see my thinking. I also chose different colours to show different parts of the model. What I would do a little differently is organising the work too. For example, put boxes around the different parts and name them them. This also makes it easier for the reader to understand. Otherwise I think this is the strongest proof of my mathematical practice that I have.

My Math Practice

In math every one had to choose a mathematical practice to work on. I chose

Mp7. Which is Utilize Structure. I think that this is important because then the person who looks at the work understands our thinking.

My goal is to put more proof in my work, organise it, and connect the ways I solved the problem. Right now I normally forget something like, an expression or a answer sentence. I want to have improved maybe even checked of by April 1st 2016.

Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for coming to my SLC’s. I really worked hard to let you see my workin the 2nd semester.
In this past week, I have looked through my work and reflected. Then I looked at what stage I am right now. Next I wrote drafts and finnaly published them on my blog. If you want to you can go on my blog to read them.
On Thursday we retook the self continuum test again. I noticed that in some parts I really improved but in some I scored my self less. For example I really persevered in the part that said ; I have strategies that help me when I am frustrated or upset, I really improved on that one. In total I think I improved a little.
What I am good at is drawing models in math. They really help me and are easy to understand. Visualising is my strength. My weakness is jotting about my book. Most of the time I’m so into my book I can’t help to keep reading. So I tell my self that I’ll do it later but then I don’t.
Today I will explain every thing about my school life. And all your questions will be answered. SO LET’S GET STARTED!!!
                                                                                          Love,
                                                                                          Malte

Tinker Time

In Tinker Time I will make a painting of a tiger strip where the eyes are. I want the eyes to look determined to archive it’s goal. To look like the goal is the only thing on it’s. I want to first scetch with pencil and then take it halo me to paint with acrylic paint. Once in a while I want to ask someone about their opinion about my drawing. I hope it will turn out good. (I’m sorry I don’t have a picture yet)

My Holidays

First my mom, my sister and me flew to Germany. We met mostly family but also friends. After ten days we flew back to India. My family celebrated NEW YEARS with Stefan. Then we flew to KArnAtAkA and visited a coffee plantation. Then we drove to the beach in Kerala and spent three days there.

Happy New Year!

My Human Rights Essay

In class we wrote a essay about a human right that related to us. Mine was on discrimination because of a country or belief. Here it is,
